One by one we exchange all!

This year, AIESEC Iasi has the purpose to bring the performance in the Exchange program and it seems that the results had already arrived. In the last two months, there has been a great progress in Incoming Exchange and also Outgoing Exchange, progress attested by the myaiesec.net platform.

As far as Outgoing Exchange is concerned in May and June were introduced 35 EP Forms in our date base, from the total of 38 that are now available. Also, AIESEC Iasi has six EPs that are matched: Alexandra Ristariu, Marius Butuc, Nincic Gogu, Cristina Danila, Smaranda Calin and Florina Ungureanu.

Andra Ristariu, a member that was recruited in October 2005, was accepted after a series of interviews and other formalities for an internship at KRAFT FOODS INTERNATIONAL in Vienna, Austria. The traineeship is on Accounting/Finance and it requires that, in 18 months the trainee has to assist the preparation of the financial plans for the EASTERN EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST & AFRICA region. This is the second traineeship for Andra who worked last summer for Tomsol Sp.z.o.o., Koszalin, Polonia in a project financed by the Leonardo program.

Marius Butuc, a graduate from The IT University from Iasi and an OGX department member since November 2006 is going in a traineeship for about tree months in the Pisa University, Italy where he will have to develop a website for the Post University programs.

Another AIESEC Iasi member, Nincic Gogu was accepted for a traineeship in a company from Warsaw, Poland - City Index Limited. Nincic is going to work for an year in developing a new project for this company, promoting and selling the products of City Index Limited.

Smaranda Calin is going to work as an Project Manager for Microsoft in Copenhaga, Danemarc. Smaranda will still be in the position of Teamleader of the CHANGE IT team, until the end of July where she will fly to her new workplace. Smaranda will take care that the members of her team will benefit from exchange opportunities as attractive as the one she is about to have.

Soon, Cristina Danila will leave for her new job in New Delhi, India. It seems that she is the only EP who wanted to go to an exotic destination. Cristina is going to work there for about six months for a five stars hotel, The Maurya Hotel from the cosmopolitan Indian town. She will work in a marketing department and she will have to maintain the connection between the hotel&aapos;s foreign clients.

Florina Ungureanu is the first member that was recruited in Spring and managed to get matched in a very short time. Her determination helped her to obtain a traineeship in Poprad, Slovakia. Starting with September, for an year, Florina will be teaching English to the 15-19 years old students from a Private Highschool.

These are the first EP members that got matched but there are lots of AIESEC Iasi members that are about to go abroad in the Exchange program. We wish the good luck and we hope that in the next months we will manage to come with great news from the Outgoing Exchange department.

As far as the other EP are concerned, the perfect TN is waiting for them in our data base that has approximately 3500 traineeships. Most of them (894) are in India that is in the top of the destinations list for Exchange.

Out of 1310 EPs available, 210 have TT profile, 849 want to apply for TNs on MT, 207 are in DT and 44 for Education Traineeships.

Green Project 2008

Green Project is an informal educational project adressed to 3rd and 4th graders. This project is all about social responsibility and caring about the environment. The main topic is the "green" way of living, a more sustenable one, which we want to promote to the children of this age.

The program includes visits to Coca Cola and also cleaning of a green area around Iasi. Green Project is financed by The Europeen Comitee Youth in Action. The seven school were visited every week ans the organisation comitee spent at least two hours with the students. Among the parteners the are: The School no. 40 "Alecu Russo", "Costache Negruzzi" Highschool, "Octav Bancila" Highschool, "Mihai Eminescu" Highschool, The School no. 8 "Carmen Sylva", The School no. 15 "Stefan Barsanescu" and The School No. 43. The project also benefits from the help of the two treinees, Andrew and Maria, which came especcialy to work with the pupils:

  • "My name is Andrew, I'm from the state of Michigan in the United States of America. I am 20 years old and have just finished my second year at the University of Michigan studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Spanish Language and Literature. I'm here in Romania to work with 3rd and 4th grade children around Iasi and teach them about sustainability and social responsibility. So far for the Green Project, we have taught children about World Issues and ways to live "green" in Europe. We also plan to visit the Coca-Cola Factory here in Iasi as well as talk with the children about ways they can help save the environment at home such as recycling. I have really enjoyed my time here in Romania and have learned a lot about its history and culture."
  • "My name is Maria, I'm from Ukraine and I'm 21 years of age. I study in management department in Azov Regional Institute of Management and Informational Technologies. I consider that youth is the moment in our lives when we can do the things we like and not to think about how much money can we get for it. (The time when we can allow ourselves to do the job we like and no to care about the income that we can get from it. That's what volunteering for me.) At the beginning, when I've only decides to apply for the internship my choice was not between countries that I want to go but between the activities (the work) that I'll do. And here, I've seen the "Green project" . Now I'm here. In this project we are teaching 3rd and 4th graders how to respect environment and to become responsible citizens of their country and of the world:)."

Business Management School

On the 18th of May took place the Closing Gala of Business Management School, which is a training program which has the purpose of educating youth in entrepreneurship by facilitating their contact with different companies and by offering them the information needed for a business plan and for the process of putting it into practice.

During the project, the participants have developed a business plan, which has been evaluated by the company representatives, who have been actively involved in the project. On the basis of this evaluation, each team has received an amount of points for their work. This was the way the winners of the program have been chosen. The winners have been awarded at the Gala. The first 4 teams have been awarded a Management course offered by Europe Direct. Also, the team who had most points has received management books from Finantare.ro.

At the Closing Gala, each team had valuable business ideas, which will hopefully be successfully implemented. The participants of this program have a huge potential on which they should capitalize.

Also at the Closing Gala, the participants had a possibility to learn more about financing opportunities of their business from Mr. Tabacaru, who represented the Territorial Office for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and Co-operatives and Mr. Susanu, who represented Europe Direct.

The project is over, but its impact will be seen for a long time from now. I would like to thank the representatives of the Corporate and Non-Corporate sectors who have been actively involved in the project and who have contributed to its success. Last, but not least, I would like to thank the Organizing Committee, due to which the whole project was organized. For most of the team members of the Organizing Committee it was the first team experience and I am very glad that we have lived it together.

During 8th and 11th of May AIESEC Iasi organized the Local Planning Meeting at Durau.

As everybody knows the LPM conference is a crucial moment every year for AIESEC because this is the moment when there are presented the directions for the next year and based on this, the activities and the projects are designed and planned. This means that in order to have the best results you would have to prepare to the best the sessions and to take care that all organizing aspects are ok so that the members can give their best. This particular LPM was even more crucial as there was a need to give AIESEC Iasi even a bigger focus on exchange.

We can say that the big team of AIESEC Iasi at this LPM formed of approximately 50 people was divided in 3, each with specific goals and needs. The members - with goal to bring the best ideas for projects and activities. For this they needed good accommodation, coffee brakes and fun. There was also the OC witch had to provide the best conditions for the other two teams and the facilitators with the goal to make sure that everything was on the right track and to bring out the best in the participants.

In my opinion everything went according to the plan and even better, we managed to enter in dialog with some exchange participants and some alumni who now are aboard and to understand how exchange influenced not only their career but also their life. We managed to design or redesign projects in order to better suit the current directions and to bring better results this year, but more important we manage to get out of LPM with a clear image on what will happen this year in AIESEC Iasi, why it will happen this way and how. Also from what I saw in LPM I think AIESEC Iasi is even a stronger team than before.

I saw the great organizing skills from the OC. Everything was flawless from this point of view and one thing that comes to my mind is that I don't recall the OC members ever having an argue. Everything went natural in their team and so they had great results.

Another achievement I think is the current board team. I saw them as very different persons but fitting and completing so perfectly in the team. I think they already know (these being another achievement) what the strong points of each of them are. They appreciate this at each other and they are always trying to learn from one other all brought together by the skills of Iulian.

And in all I think that LPM showed that AIESEC Iasi has people that strive to give their best in daily work, have a lot of fun together (we partied each night, members, EB, OC until at least 3 in the morning) and share the same vision of AIESEC.

I am thankful to be given the change to chair this conference with the people of AIESEC IASI to share "mititei" with them at 1 o'clock in the night and to dance until morning.

What comes up next is simple: WORK! WORK! WORK!

Chair at LPM AIESEC Iasi 2008

AIESEC Training sessions

AIESEC, the largest international youth organization in the world, present in over 100 countries and territories, offers young people throughout the world the opportunity to develop both personal and professional level. Respecting this principle, EB 2008-2009 AIESEC Iasi has prepared a series of special training for the members of the organization.

The first of these was held by Mr Andrew Trofor, Spokesman of the Iasi City Hall and treated the theme "Management of relationship with the press." Organized primarily for members of Communication Department, the training also gathered members of other departments and even of other local AIESEC committee in the country, namely AIESEC Bucharest. Produced at hall "Moldavia" from House of Culture Student during one hour, the training took place in an informal manner, in the form of a free discussion coordinated by Mr. Trofor. It has provided answers to most questions addressed by participants and, especially, offered tips & tricks of the passionate field of Public Relations. He focused on improving the organization's relationship with the local press, on organizing press conferences and strategies for communicating with journalists to promote AIESEC Iasi projects. Mr Andrew Trofor has shown interest in continuing cooperation with members of the organization by providing support and informational support in their activities.

Another important training AIESEC in Iasi was held by Alexander Ciungu, aka Topper, who came especially from Bucharest to talk to members of Corporate Relations Department about the most effective methods and strategies in selling TNs. It was structured on several sessions, as the history of AIESEC and the manner in which the organization benefits globally and, implicitly, the local sales process itself (targeting, telephone meeting, signing) and tips & tricks. Powered over 2 days, with daily sessions of 3-4 hours, the training brought together approximately 10 members of AIESEC Iasi which are now more motivated and ready for sale in TNs.

In this way, the people taking part in these trainings thank the speakers for participation and to the organizers for the initiative. Surely, we learned from these activities and I encourage all the members of AIESEC to have an attitude as proactive in the future.

La terminarea facultatii, am plecat in traineeship in Budapesta, pentru 7 luni.

AGENDA INSCRIERII:

One by one we exchange all!

In curand si Cristina Danila, va pleca catre noul ei job din New Delhi, India.

Green Project 2008

Negruzzi", Liceul "Octav Bancila", Liceul "Mihai Eminescu", Scoala nr. 8 "Carmen Sylva", Scoala nr. 15 "Stefan Barsanescu" si Scoala nr. 43.

In cadrul acestuia tinem cateva cursuri elevilor de clasele III-IV si ii invatam sa respecte mediul inconjurator si sa devina cetateni responsabili, atat in cadrul tarii, cat si al lumii.:)"

Start Me

Proiectul a luat sfarsit insa impactul acestuia va persista inca mult timp.
