  2. What's the next step?

When the applications deadline is reached, we will make an initial selection of your forms based on a number of criterias such as: your level of the English language, previous work and academic experience, and others listed in the above section named "What do you need?".

The people selected in this stage will be contacted by our members to be scheduled for a second stage of the selection process, an interview with a team of AIESEC members, to further assess your motivation and expectations.

After you pass the interview, you the next step will be for you to attend an Inter-Cultural Preparation Seminar - that is, a conference where you will get the necessary insight in what it means to be an Exchange participant - how to handle various cultural shocks, how to work in an international team, how to be an ambassador of your country abroad and so on.

The last stage is for you to find an internship on our platform (with the assistance of more experienced AIESEC members). At any given time there are around 4000 internships in 107 countries, active on the platform - so you have real chances to find one that satisfies your expectations.

  3. How would the internship affect my studies?

AIESEC internships' duration is between 6 weeks and 18 months. Because of this, you have multiple options regarding your studies, even when you're not a last-year student, or a fresh graduate:

The first option would be to go in a short internship (up to three months), during your summer holiday, then come back and continue as usual - and maybe go in a longer internship when you graduate, there'd be no need to go through the selection process again.

A second option, for last-year students that would also like to continue with theyr masters' studies, would be to postpone the masters' program with, say, one year, and goon an internship then return home to continue the studies.

A third option, least preferred by students in general, would be to freeze your studies for the duration of the internship and choose one of any length, then continue them when you return in the country.
